Four Sets of Hands, and You Will Know Which Ones Touched Your Clubs
Every entry in your service file is initialled. If a lie angle was bent on a Thursday afternoon, the sheet says who bent it. That is not ceremony — it is how we catch our own mistakes when a reading looks wrong six months later.

Sylvie opened the repair desk that turned into this studio. She spent eight years before that as an assistant professional at two Sacramento-area clubs, which is where the habit of writing specs down came from — members would ask why a club felt different and nobody could answer because nobody had a record.
She runs iron and wedge baselines and handles the awkward cases: golfers between swing changes, long-standing injuries that rule out the obvious answer, and anybody who arrives convinced their problem is equipment when it is grip pressure. She will tell you when that is what is happening.

Ansel Mahoney
Bench manager · builds, regrips, structural repair
Ansel came out of a bicycle frame shop, which sounds like a detour and is not. Both trades are about joints, tolerances, and knowing when a component has been stressed past the point where it should be trusted. He does every epoxy joint in this room and every shaft pull.
If you drop a club off with a rattle, a loose head, or a ferrule that has crept, it lands on his bench. He is also the person who decides whether a shaft that has been pulled once can be pulled again, and he is conservative about it.

Nolen Ferriman
Measurement desk · launch data, gauge calibration, file keeping
Nolen owns the numbers. He calibrates the loft and lie machine and the frequency analyser at the start of every week and logs the check, because a gauge that has drifted will happily give you confident nonsense. He also maintains the service files, which means he is the one who notices that your recheck window came up.
During a session he is usually the quiet one at the monitor discarding bad strikes before they pollute your average. He has strong views on why the raw dispersion screen is misleading and he will explain them if you ask.

Imogen Kestrel
Short game and putter bench · wedge grinds, putter fitting
Imogen handles everything from a hundred yards in. Wedge bounce and grind selection for local turf, putter length and lie work, face balance and toe hang, and the green-reading side of putter setup that most fittings skip entirely.
She plays to a low single figure out of a course with notoriously firm surrounds, which is relevant: her bounce recommendations for Sacramento summers come from having been personally embarrassed by hardpan more than once.
How the work splits on a normal day
The bays and the bench run at the same time. A typical Thursday has Sylvie in bay one on a baseline session, Nolen at the monitor for that session, Ansel building or regripping at the back, and Imogen either in bay two on a wedge or putter fitting or out on the practice green behind the building.
The practical consequence for you is that a drop-off repair does not wait for a fitting to finish, and a fitting is not rushed because somebody is waiting for a regrip. It is also why Sunday is drop-off only: there is a hand-off window, not a full bench.
